Officers:
The following ranks are the officer ranks that most members of the Cadet Instructors Cadre will have while working with the cadet program. Most local officers usually are of the rank of Captain and below (sometimes COs of large cadet units can be Majors)
Additionally, cadets often also work with civilian adults who are not members of the Canadian Armed Forces, but have recognized skill sets that benefit the cadet program, and are regular members of our staff. These individuals are normally either Civilian Instructors (CI) or Civilian Volunteers (CV).
Cadets:
Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (Sr NCOs)

Warrant Officer First Class (WO1)
Requirements:
- completed at least six months service at the substantive rank of WO2,
- be identified as a successful candidate through the merit review board process, and
- be recommended by the appropriate level officer.

Warrant Officer Second Class (WO2)
Requirements:
- completed at least six months service at the substantive rank of FSgt,
- be identified as a successful candidate through the merit review board process,
- be recommended by the appropriate level officer,
- have participated in the Cadet Fitness Assessment, and
- achieved a minimum of "Completed Without Difficulty" in PO 503 Leadership.

Flight Sergeant (FSgt)
Requirements:
- completed at least six months service at the rank of Sgt,
- have successfully completed the fourth year of the Air Cadet Proficiency Level Training Program,
- be recommended by the appropriate level officer,
- having participated in the Cadet Fitness Assessment, and
- achieved a minimum of "Completed Without Difficulty" in PO 403 Leadership.

Sergeant (Sgt)
Requirements:
- completed at least six months service at the rank of FCpl,
- have successfully completed the third year of the Air Cadet Proficiency Level Training Program,
- be recommended by the appropriate level officer,
- have participated in the Cadet Fitness Assessment, and
- achieved a minimum of "Completed Without Difficulty" in PO 303 Leadership.

Junior Non-Commissioned Officers (Jr NCOs)

Flight Corporal (FCpl)
Requirements:
- completed at least six months of service at the rank of Cpl,
- have successfully completed the second year of the Air Cadet Proficiency Level Training Program,
- be recommended by the appropriate level officer, and
- have participated in the Cadet Fitness Assessment

Corporal (Cpl)
Requirements:
- hold the rank of LAC,
- successfully complete year one of the Air Cadet Proficiency Level Training Program,
- be recommended by the appropriate level officer, and
- have participated in the Cadet Fitness Assessment

Members

Leading Air Cadet (LAC)
Requirements:
- participate in the first year of the Air Cadet Proficiency Level Training Program for a minimum period of five months, and
- be recommended by the appropriate level officer.
